Stephanie Raach was hired in 1978 as both a faculty member and coach of the Women's Tennis and Basketball programs, where she was twice named Coach of the Year for outstanding efforts, specifically guiding the first women's team at Rock Valley College to qualify for the national tournament. Raach served as dual coach from 1978 to 1985 before coming on as the Director of Fitness, Wellness and Sport Coordinator and Athletic Director in 2002. Raach was the recipient of the 2006 YMCA Leadership Award and the Janet Lynn Award of Sports. Before Raach retired in 2007, she helped expand that athletic department by adding men's and women's soccer.
