Hall of Fame
The 1971 Tennis Team finished 16-0 in 1971 and 10-0 in the North Central Community College Conference. The team included #2 singles champion, Paul Axley, the #3 singles champion, Tom Sloggett, the #1 doubles champions, Terry Johnson and Art Schrom, and the #2 doubles champions, Dave Shales and Dave Copeland. Rock Valley College's #1 singles player, Dan Perone, defeated #2 Axley in the Region IV singles match, which has never been repeated in Region IV tournament play. In a time that featured no division splits, Rock Valley College finished 17th of 37 teams at the NJCAA National Tournament in Ocala, Florida.
