Former head coach Ben Staupe spent eight seasons at Rock Valley College, leading the Golden Eagles to a 192-101 overall record, 110 in his final three seasons on sidelines in Rockford. Staupe was name Coach of the Year on nine different occasions, including American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) Midwest Coach of the Year in 2004. In his eight seasons, Rock Valley won four conference titles and advanced to the NJCAA National Tournament twice, finishing national runners-up in 2004. While at RVC, Staupe coached seven NJCAA All-Americans, 22 AllRegion selections, 34 All-Conference picks and five Academic All-Americans. Staupe went on to coach at UW-Whitewater for eight seasons, including associate head coach in 2016. At UW-Whitewater, Staupe helped guide the Warhawks to seven straight NCAA Championship appearances and a “Sweet 16” appearance in 2016. During his time on staff, the Warhawks accumulated a 161-53 overall record with six WIAC titles. Most notably following his stint at UW-Whitewater, Staupe was named head coach at Western Illinois University in 2018 and coached for four seasons before being recently named head coach at UW-Stout in 2022
