Rockford, IL: Golden Eagles Women's Soccer scored five goals in a controlled performance for the first win of the season. #17 Isabelle Rivera and #25 Jocelyn Harms both had doubles to lead the attack. The Golden Eagles went behind on a NIACC penalty kick in transition against the run of play. Goalkeeper #99 Natizy Garcia got a finger to it but could not keep it out. #27 Abigail Carlson evened up the score on a #10 Emma Ambrose corner that was headed down by #25 Jocelyn Harms and hammered into the top of the net by Carlson. The second goal came from an attacking transition where #27 Abigail Carlson picked out #17 Isabelle Rivera as she ran in behind the NIACC defense and slotted home the game winner. #5 Makenna Brown picked out a wonderful reverse ball to a slashing #17 Isabelle Rivera run and composed finish to extend the league before NIACC pulled on back from a corner with seconds left in the half.

The second half saw the Golden Eagles start to dictate the match dominating possession and having a majority of possession in attacking areas. The pressure led to a penalty kick that #25 Joceln Harms dispactched and added a bit of breathing room. NIACC were dangerous on the counter, but as the game went on their chances became less frequent. The final goal came off a bit of build up and a wonderfully weighted ball from #5 Makenna Brown into #27 Abigail Carlson who cut the ball back for #25 Jocelyn Harms second goal of the evening. 

It was a strong performance against a solid North Iowa team. The Golden Eagles pick up their second win of the season taking them into Region 4 play vs Waubonsee Community College at home Saturday August 31st @ 2:30 pm following the mens game.
