Baseball Starts Off 2023 Campaign with a Win

Box Score Golden Eagle Baseball kicked off their season with a win against Morton College. The game saw 23 runs cross the plate yesterday, 13 of those runs coming from Rock Valley. The Golden Eagles would find themselves down 95 runs after the 5th inning but the bats would rally. Rock Valley posted NINE runs in the top of the 6th inning to take a 13-9 lead heading into the bottom of the 6th. The bullpen would toss up goose eggs the final three innings to secure the win. Ethan Storm gets the first victory of the season, Braydon Cooper takes the save. Payton Matthews had himself a day; 4-4 on the day with 4 runs, 2 RBI, 2 SB and a walk. He also homered in the game. Jackson Lindquist homered in the game as well, he finished the day 3-4 with 4 RBI. Ethan Glossa would also leave the park for the Golden Eagles with a 2 run shot.

The Golden Eagles will head to Kansas this weekend to compete in Wichita, KS. They are scheduled to play Friday at 11:00am against Highland CC (Kansas).
