ROCKFORD, Ill. – The Golden Eagles found their way in the win column once again Tuesday afternoon. Four different goal scorers found the back of the net to pace RVC 4-0 over Bryant & Stratton College.
Julio Davila gave the Golden Eagles the early lead in the 14
th minute off a first-time strike stemming from a corner kick. Sophomore
Roberto Davila would twice collect assists off corners kicks when
Joshua Ceniceros tightly placed a header, beating the keeper in the 21
st minute. Freshman
Max Rebori would complete a three-goal 13-minute span, beating the keeper in the 27
th minute.
Rock Valley would hold scoreless until the 81
st minute when
Roberto Davila found the back of the net on a pass from
Elijah Rufer.
The nearly sold-out
Chad Herren Pavilion saw a similar brand of high-paced action they were treated to Friday night in the season opener.
"Loved the response tonight," said head coach
Tim Romanello. "[The guys] played a really great first half that set the tone for the evening. A few things to button up, but overall really pleased with how they got after it."
Alyas Fritz started his second game, both home games. Fritz collected two saves and the shutout.
Rock Valley College is 2-1-0 (0-0-0 Region 4). Bryant & Stratton drops to 0-1-0 (0-0-0). The Golden Eagles are back in action Sunday (Aug. 28) evening when they travel to St. Louis Community College in a 1:00 pm kickoff.
