Rockford, IL: The Golden Eagles started the week on the road picking up a 91-49 win over Highland Community College 91-49 and then returned home to defeat Moraine Valley Community College 71-65. With that both of those victories Rock Valley improves to 13-3 on the year and is currently ranked 11
th in the latest NJCAA women's basketball DII poll.
On Tuesday the Golden Eagles would travel to Freeport to take on Highland. RVC would jump out to an early lead in the first quarter before 24-12 over the Cougars. "We got defended early and hit some big shots to start the game off. Stated Head Coach

The Golden Eagles would expand their lead fueled by a 25-0 run in the second quarter. Rock Valley would go on to score 33 points in the second quarter compared to Highlands 8 points.. "A lot of people see scores and talk about how explosive our offense is but the second quarter against Highland showed a few people just how explosive that offense can be." Stated Watkins Rock Valley scored those 25 points in a matter of minutes building their halftime lead up to 57-20 over the Cougars.
Camron Blank would lead the Golden Eagles with 14 points, 8 rebounds and 5 assists. Also hitting double figures against Highland would be
Nevaeh Hughes with 12 points 6 rebounds, and
Karley Colson with 11 points, 4 assists. Missing double figures for the Golden Eagles would be 5 players with 8-9 points

Emily Rich, and Bre'Najah Davis with 8 points apiece. RVC would go on to win the game 91-49.
Rock Valley would finish the week defeating a tough Moraine Valley Community College. The Golden Eagles would battle back and forth with the Cyclones the entire game eventually leading to a 71-65 victory at home to finish off the 2022 calendar year. Maya Mitchell would lead the Golden Eagles with 17 points. Also hitting double figures against Moraine Valley would be
Nevaeh Hughes with 12 points, 10 rebounds and 3 blocks,

McKenna Williams with 10 points 6 rebounds.
