The RVC Women's Basketball team kicked off the regular season and DII era with a win over Sauk Valley Community College 111-52. The Golden Eagles improve to 1-0 on the young season and eclipse the century mark for the first time on the year.

The Golden Eagles flexed their muscles early in the first quarter jumping out to 19-5 lead off of an 14-0 run. "On the offensive end of the court we moved the basketball extremely well and got the looks that we wanted almost every possession which showed with our 33 assist on 45 field goal makes for the game" stated Watkins. RVC built their lead to 61 points before giving up one final basket to the Skyhawks with one minute left in the game.
RVC saw 12 players get in the box score and 6 of those 12 reach double figures. SophomoreÂ

Elli Teubert with 12 points, 6 assist, Maya Mitchell with 12 points 4 assist 3 rebounds and 3 steals, Nevaeh Hughes with 11 points, 5 steals, 4 rebounds, 4 assists. Kiara Brandon and Tatym Coe rounded out the double digit scoring for RVC with 10 points apiece.
