Box Score #4 Rock Valley College needed overtime, but the Golden Eagles managed to defeat Madison College 73-72 at home on Sophomore Day. RVC finishes the regular season 25-5 overall, and 10-4 in N4C play. The Golden Eagles will be the #2 seed in next week's Region IV Tournament.

"We did everything in our power to make that game difficult," said Head Men's Basketball Coach Evan Lavery. "We had entirely too many defensive breakdowns and mental mistakes. On the bright side, we made just enough plays in order to win. Madison gave us everything that we could handle."

In a back and forth second half, the Golden Eagles were tied with under 1 minute remaining. On a missed shot, the Golden Eagles snagged the offensive rebound and were primed to take a last second shot to win the game in regulation. A Madison foul with RVC in the bonus changed things quickly. The Golden Eagles missed the front end of the one-and-one, which left Madison with the ball and the opportunity to win the game. The WolfPack missed a shot at the bucket, which forced overtime. RVC found themselves up 1 point heading into the games final possession. The Golden Eagle defense stood strong, and held Madison off.

Sophomore DeMari Davis was huge on the front line with 19 points and 10 rebounds. Elijah Pappas added 18 points and 7 rebounds. Malique Ross added 16 points, while Darius Branch chipped in 11 points.
