Box Score 1 | Box Score 2 Rockford, IL. – The RVC Men's Basketball program picked up two big Region IV wins at home this past Tuesday and Wednesday night.

NJCAA D2 McHenry County came to Rockford to take on the Golden Eagles after coming off an impressive road victory against Joliet Junior College.

A great crowd was on hand for the Men's home opener and saw the Eagles race out to an early lead. McHenry would cut into that lead and eventually would pull within 3, but a huge steal and score by Kaveon Rogers at the end of the half fueled the momentum for the Eagles in the second half.

The Eagles mounted their best defensive performance in recent memory holding the visiting team to only 8 field goal makes in the entire half and holding McHenry to a second half score of just 21 points. RVC held McHenry to just 21% shooting in the second half and only 27% for the entire game.

Offensively, it was again, by committee, with RVC having 5 players score in double figures. Leading the way was Sophomore transfer Josiah Patton with a game high 18 pts on 6-11 shooting. Josh Streeter and Bryanth Farr both chipped in with 14 poitns while Nana Kodom-Ayensu had 13. Rounding out the 5 was Freshman guard Brayden Hennis who had his first double digit scoring outing in his young college career.

The Eagles shot 47% from the floor and outrebounded the Scotts 53-34.

Wednesday night saw the Eagles have a quick turnaround in their game against NJCAA D3 Region IV opponent Elgin Community College.

The 1st half was close throughout and included 9 lead changes. The game was tied going into the final seconds of the 1st half until Josh Streeter connected on an And-1 from 3. After sinking the free throw the Eagles went into the locker room up 42-38.

The second half belonged to the Eagles. Again, like Wednesday, the Eagles defensive effort in the second half went unmatched. As a team, RVC held Elgin to just 1-9 shooting from 3 (11%),  and only allowed 11 field goal makes. RVC saw the lead swell to as much as 20, but ultimately won 94-78.

Offensively, it was another solid night for the Eagles as 5 players reached double digits. Josh Streeter led all scorers with 19pts and was closely followed by Terrence Lakes with 16. Nana Kodom-Ayensu added 12, Josiah Patton pitched in 11 and Rockford East grad Charles Burnell had 10pts.

RVC won the rebounding battle 42-36 and shot a blistering 53% from the field for the game
