W-Soccer: #7 Golden Eagles Take Care of Illinois Valley CC
#7 RVC Women's Soccer had no issues taking care of Illinois Valley CC, defeating the Eagles on their home field 6-0. The Golden Eagles start the 2017 season 1-0.
"It is always nice to start the season with a win," stated Head Women's Soccer Coach
Carrie Barker. "We played pretty aggressive from start to finish. I was pleased that we came out of halftime with even more focus to keep IVCC at bay. We need to continue to build as we prepare for another tough week."
Sophomore
Kenzie Theien scored the first goal of the season, followed by
Sarah Landerholm finding the back of the net later in the half to give RVC a 2-0 advantage into halftime.
Jessie Schiro,
Anne Harris,
Katie Grubb, and Angelica Krista all scored in the second half to round out the balanced offensive attack from the Golden Eagles.
UP NEXT
The Golden Eagles head north to Madison College to open up N4C play. The match is set for Wednesday, August 30th with a 7 PM start time.
