Carrie Barker returns for her seventh season as Head Women's Soccer Coach at Rock Valley College.

In 2019, Barker finished the season 13-3 overall record and 9-2 record in the N4C Conference. Ending the season as N4C Conference Champions and Region IV Runners-up. The team was ranked as high as #9 in the NJCAA national polls. Also, the team earned ten shutouts on the year and six players earned All-Conference and All-Region honors. Freshman goalkeeper Madie Miller, Sophomore defender Ashlee Figueroa, Sophomore midfielder Kim Neidich, Freshman forward Frankie Schiro and Freshman defender Meleny Villa were all named First Team All-Conference and All-Region. Sophomore defender Emily Szymanski named Second Team All-Conference and All-Region.

In 2017, Barker finished the season 11-4-1. Four players were recognized for their play during the 2017 season, being named either All-Region IV and/or All-N4C.Sophomore goalkeeper Shannel Boettcher and sophomore defender Katie Grubb were named both First Team All-Region IV and First Team All-N4C. Sophomore forward Kenzie Theien was named both Second Team All-Region IV and Second Team All-N4C. Sophomore midfielder Shelby Seiter was named Second Team All-Region IV.

In 2016, Barker's squad had the best record in program history with an overall record of 14-2-2, and 11-1-1 in conference play. Six of her players earned All-Region and one earned 1st Team All-American. In 2014, Barker resurrected the RVC Women's Soccer program and led them to a 15-4-1 (.917) record while making it to the NJCAA National Tournament in Toms River, New Jersey, where the Golden Eagles finished fourth in the country. Barker was also named Region IV Coach of the Year. Along the way, the women's soccer program won the Region IV/District 2 championship and Barker saw six of her student-athletes earn all-region and all-conference honors (Maura Korchak, Sadey Jumapao, and Kelsea Berg were named to the first team, while Hayley Reeser, Nicole Fauerbach and Samantha Walleck were named second team). Maura Korchak also earned first team All-American honors, becoming the first RVC Women's Soccer player to accomplish this feat. She was also named to the NJCAA All-Tournament team.
 
Barker came to RVC with 14 years of NCAA Division I coaching experience. She has served with three universities - the University of Michigan (1997-2004), the University of Wisconsin (2004-2006), and Northern Illionois University (2008-2011). She was the Head Women's Soccer Coach at Northern Illinois University where her players succeeded both on the field and in the classroom. Under her watch, her players achieved a cumulative team GPA above 3.0 for seven straight semesters and had 17 student-athletes honored as Victory Scholars for achieving between a 3.5 and 3.99 GPA. She also coached five players who received CoSIDA/ESPN All-Academic Team Honors, three players who earned NSCAA Team Academic Awards, and coached one NSCAA Scholar All-Region player.
 
While at NIU, Barker led her team to the Mid-American Conference playoffs twice, recruited the first English U17 World Cup youth International player, set a school record for longest unbeaten streak with 13, and broke the MAC shutout record with 28. She also coached the first first team All-MAC player from NIU since 1999 and one of only three freshmen in NIU history to ever be named to the MAC All-Freshman team. While coaching at NIU, Barker also served on the NSCAA Division I Great Lakes Regional Ranking Committee for three seasons.
 
Prior to her time at NIU, Barker served as an Assistant Women's Soccer Coach at both the University of Wisconsin (2004-2007) and the University of Michigan (1997-2004), where combined she was a part of nine NCAA tournament appearances, two NCAA tournament Sweet 16 appearances, and one NCAA Elite Eight appearance. She also coached for three Big Ten championship teams combined at Michigan (1997, 1999) and Wisconsin ( 2005). In total, the NCAA Division I teams she has coached for accumulated a record of 164-108-29 during her time there.
 
She played for the University of Wisconsin's 1991 NCAA national championship finalist team. She was second team Central Region All-American in 1990. Barker was also caption for the 1994 Big Ten Championship team. Prior to intercollegiate competition she was a high school four-time all-state, All-American player and high school Hall of Fame inductee in Michigan.
 
Barker has many years of International Soccer experience as both a player and coach. After her college career she played semi-professional soccer in Denmark. She has recruited in Europe, South American and Africa. She has also coached pro bono in Africa (Uganda 2010 & 2011). Barker helped instruct 380 Ugandan coaches http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_VULVkkr-xM.  She has also worked with the USA Youth Soccer Olympic Development programs in Michigan, and Wisconsin, and is a former staff coach with the U-14 United States National Team program.
 
Barker also currently works for the Wisconsin Youth Soccer Association as a United States Soccer Federation (USSF) Coaching Instructor and Olympic Development Staff Coach. She holds a National "A" coaching license from the USSF, Premier Coaching Diploma from the National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) and USSF Grassroots Instructors License.
