W-Soccer: Strong Second Half Propels Golden Eagles
On the heels of another strong second half, #5-ranked RVC pulled off a 2-0 win at Madison College on Friday. The win moves the Golden Eagles to 4-0, and 2-0 in N4C play.
After over 77 minutes of scoreless action,
Katie Grubb netted the first goal of the match. The assist was provided by
Sarah Landerholm. Almost 4 minutes later, an insurance goal was scored by
Brianna Perez. Landerholm donated her second assist of the match on Perez's goal.
"We knew coming into this game that it was probably going to be our toughest opponent so far," stated Golden Eagle
Sydney Shelburne. "As a team, we did a nice job with ball control and staying patient. Once Katie scored our first goal, that really got our momentum going. Overall, it was a great team win."
The Golden Eagles stayed in attack mode all match long, out shooting Madison, 14-4. RVC has outscored its opponents 20-1 in the four matches they have played.

Katie Grubb. "We played a tough match, but everyone stayed strong and worked together really well. We gave 100% and left it all out on the field."

The Golden Eagles being the first of a seven-game home stand on Wednesday, September 7th in a N4C bout against Milwaukee Area Technical College. Kick off time is set for 4 PM in Rockford.
