W-Soccer: #2 RVC Earns Comeback Victory Over Madison
Despite trailing for the first time at half in 11 matches, the #2 ranked RVC Women's Soccer team was able to pull off a 2-1 victory over Madison College in Rockford. The Golden Eagles improve to 10-0-1 on the 2016 campaign.
Â
Madison struck first, scoring in the 37th minute. After a quiet rest of the half, RVC came out more aggressive and found the back of the net in the 67th minute courtesy of Sara Landerholm (assisted by
Erin DiSanti). Almost 5 minutes later,
Katie Grubb scored the go-ahead goal (also assisted by DiSanti), which proved to be enough for the match.
"We didn't start well," states Head Women's Soccer Coach
Carrie Barker. " We made a couple of adjustments in the second half, and our players responded very well. I loved our effort in the second half. It was great to see our players get rewarded with a win."
