#4 Rock Valley College won their eighth straight match to open the 2016 campaign. The Golden Eagles beat College of Lake County at home 2-1.

"This game was a tough one, no doubt about it," stated team captain Lauren Beed. "We cleaned it up, though, and got two great goals from Kenzie. That really helped change our energy and got us going. CLC was physical and they definitely came ready to play. I thought we responded well."

Kenzie Theien continued her strong play for the Golden Eagles, scoring 2 goals in the match. Sharlee Hofbauer and Cecilia Magana contributed the assists.

"I am proud of our girls," stated Head Women's Soccer Coach Carrie Barker. "We've done a good job thus far, and teams are definitely playing us well. I think our schedule is tough, and it is preparing us well for the postseason. It will be here before we know it."
