The Rock Valley College Men's Basketball team traveled to Grayslake, IL and broke the 100-point mark for the first time this season in beating NJCAA D2 College of Lake County - 110-57. The #7-ranked Golden Eagles move to 8-4 on the season.

RVC took control of the game from the opening tip behind back-to-back 3 PT field goals from sophomore big man Alec Pena, a fast break lay-up from DeMari Davis, and a dunk from point guard Malique Ross. The Golden Eagles never looked back, carrying a 49-31 lead into halftime. RVC did not stop after the break, outscoring CLC 61-26 in the second half. The game featured 4 Golden Eagles in double-figures, and 11 different Golden Eagles scoring. RVC shot a blistering 54.5% from the field and 44.4% from behind the arc, which included 16 total 3 PTM. The Golden Eagles out-rebounded CLC 39-23, and were able to dish out a season-high 28 assists on 42 field goals.

"I liked our energy and our approach to attacking the game one possession at a time," stated Head Men's Basketball Coach Evan Lavery. "We just continued to do our job, and that is what we need to focus on as we move forward. No one played more than 25 minutes, and we had 9 guys play between 19 and 25 minutes so it was great to see a bunch of guys gain valuable game reps. We got contributions all across the board on both sides of the ball."

The Golden Eagles were led by Pena, who flirted with a double-double with 26 points and 9 rebounds. Dalton Menke netted 17 points. Freshmen Andrew Squires and Garrett Schweighauser both had career nights, scoring 16 and 14 points, respectively. Ross also just missed a double-double with 9 points and 10 assists in 19 minutes of action.
