Rock Valley takes down Indian Hills
Last Friday, Rock Valley defeated #17 NJCAA DI opponent Indian Hills Community College (Ottumwa, IA) 77-67... The Golden Eagles came out ready to compete, grabbing the lead from the tip and holding the lead for the entire 40 minutes... In the first half, Rock Valley led by as many as 23 points, though the lead was cut to 13 at half, 38-25... Out of the half the Warriors went on a run bringing the deficit to 6, but the Golden Eagles were able to fight off the charge and ultimately come away with the win... The Golden Eagles had four players in double-digit scoring, lead by sophomore Alec Pena (Rockton, IL) with 20 points... Freshman Malique Ross (Oswego, IL) contributed to the win in several ways finishing the contest with 18 points, 8 assists, and 6 rebounds... Dalton Menke (Winnebago, IL) continued his hot three-point shooting, hitting 4 shots from behind the arc, finishing with 15 points to go along with 5 rebounds... Sophomore Jace Kitchen (DeKalb, IL) added 11 points... DeMari Davis contributed a game-high 12 rebounds (8 offensive) to go along with 7 points... Freshman Elijah Pappas (Rockford, IL) got his first collegiate start for the Golden Eagles finishing with 6 points and 3 assists.
