M-Basketball: Golden Eagles Fall to Nationally Ranked South Suburban College
Box Score In a battle of Region IV programs nationally ranked in the preseason Top 5, South Suburban College (#3 NJCAA DII) knocked off the RVC Golden Eagles (#1 NJCAA DIII) 78-65 in Rockford, IL. RVC Men's Basketball falls to 2-1 on the season.
"Turnovers did us in," stated Head Men's Basketball Coach
Evan Lavery. "You cannot gift wrap the basketball to a team like South Suburban and expect to get a favorable outcome on our end. They are a strong, athletic, and tough basketball team. Combine us throwing the ball away with not being able to keep the ball infront of us defensively in the second half, it is a recipe for a loss. We need to get better, and we will."
The Golden Eagles were led by
Jace Kitchen's 16 points.
Alec Pena contributed 14 points. Freshman forward
DeMari Davis contributed 7 points, 10 rebounds, and 5 assists.
