W-Soccer: Golden Eagles Advance to Region IV Championship Match
RVC Women's Soccer pulled off a 1-1 tie against Harper College, but advanced in the Region IV Tournament after winning in penalty kicks 4-1. RVC will travel to Glen Ellyn, IL on Tuesday, October 25th to take on College of DuPage. Match time is set for 3 PM with the winner advancing to the District D Finals.
Although Harper struck first in the 63rd minute, RVC responded right back with a goal from
Brianna Perez in the 71st minute. After the rest of regulation and 2 overtime periods going scoreless, the Golden Eagles were able to pull it off in penalty kicks.
"It was a very entertaining game on both ends. Harper is a well coached team. We knew it would be a street fight," stated Head Women's Soccer Coach
Carrie Barker. "I am very proud of how we represented ourselves in front of a great crowd. We protected our home turf, and now we get to advance."
