Rock Valley College Head Women's Basketball Coach Darryl Watkins announces the addition of Brandi Fier to the Women's Basketball staff.
 
Fier completes her first season with the Golden Eagles in 2023-24 season. During the year Rock Valley would complete the first undefeated regular season in program history at 30-0. The Golden Eagles would go on to win the NJCAA Region 4 DII District B Championship advancing to the NJCAA DII Women’s Basketball National tournament for the first time in program history. Rock Valley would make an appearance in the elite eight game before losing to the future 3rd place finisher Mesa Thunderbirds.

Rock Valley would complete the year going 34-0 and continued to be leaders in pretty much every statistical category in the nation. Rock Valley College’s fast-paced offense eclipsed 100 points scored in a game 6 times in the 2023-24 season alone. RVC  has scored 80-or-more points 68 times over the last four seasons. The Golden Eagles set a few records this past season as well with most wins in a season (34), highest win percentage in program history (.944), most points scored in a single game (137) vs Kishwaukee College, and largest margin of victory (100 points) vs Kishwaukee College..Fier comes to Rock Valley College from Southern Illinois University Edwardsville (SIUE) where she was part of the Athletic Department as a Marketing Graduate Assistant. Fier served as the primary designer for the Cougars and was the marketing oversite for Women's Soccer, Women's Basketball and Softball. Fier helped with gameday operations and promotional activities and helped run home athletic events for SIUE. She received her Masters in Marketing Communications from SIUE in the Spring of 2023.
 
Fier was part of the Rockford Heat Elite travel ball program throughout the years of 2008-2015. A 4 year letter winner from Hononegah High School, Fier was honored First Team All NIC-10 her Sophomore, Junior and Senior year. Fier won a Regional Championship her Freshman Year and all 4 years won the NIC-10 regular season Conference Championship. As a Senior she was named to the Sterling All-Tournament Team and holds the Hononegah Assist Record with 711.
 
Post Hononegah, Fier headed to Illinois Central College in East Peoria, Illinois. As a freshman she ranked 24th Nationally in NJCAA DII with assists at 140 and was part of a National Runner Up team in 2016. As a Sophomore, Fier ranked 7th nationally in assists with 162 and 9th in assists per game with 5.1. Fier was also named to the NJCAA DII Region IV All Region Team.
 
Fier graduated from University of North Carolina – Greensboro (UNCG) where she majored in New Media and Design and was part of the Women's Basketball team. As a Junior she was named Academic All-Socon and played in 29 games making 20 starts. Fier led the team with 103 assists and scored 6.3 ppg and played 27.2 minutes per game. Fier scored in double digits as a Spartan in 8 games, recorded a season high 18 points at Coastal Carolina, and recorded 9 assists against Coastal Carolina and High Point and 8 assists against ETSU. Due to a Medical Redshirt (knee) in 2018-2019 Fier did not play but was named Academic All-Socon. As a Senior (2019-2020), Fier played through another injury (knee) and helped the Spartans to be Regular Season Southern Conference Co-Champions and was named to the All-Academic Team earning the Southern Conference Commissioner's medial.

She is eager to learn and develop as a coach to continue to help this program be successful" Stated Watkins.
