| Box Score 2 | Box Score 3 | Box Score 4 ROCKFORD, Ill. — The Rock Valley College volleyball team enjoyed a strong opening week to the 2026 season, building momentum through a successful scrimmage and an impressive 5-1 performance at the opening weekend tournament at the UW Health Sports Factory.

The Golden Eagles began the week with a scrimmage victory over Judson before carrying that momentum into tournament play. Rock Valley recorded victories over Grand Rapids, Lake Michigan, Muskegon, Miles and Kaskaskia, finishing the weekend with five wins in six matches.

Against Grand Rapids, Rock Valley earned a 3-1 victory behind a balanced effort on both sides of the net. The Golden Eagles followed with a 3-0 sweep of Lake Michigan, where the team received strong production in kills, digs, blocks, aces and assists.
Rock Valley continued its winning ways with another 3-0 victory over Muskegon. The Golden Eagles' offense remained balanced throughout the match, while the defense and serving game helped control the contest.
The Golden Eagles also swept Miles and Kaskaskia, closing the tournament with consecutive 3-0 victories. Against Miles, Rock Valley recorded 13 aces as a team, while the Kaskaskia match featured a strong offensive performance with the Golden Eagles recording 43 kills.

Several Golden Eagles turned in standout performances throughout the weekend. Rhema Pace was a consistent presence defensively, recording 17 digs against both Miles and Kaskaskia, while also contributing 17 kills against Grand Rapids. Sonia Prekducaj was another key contributor, posting 12 kills against Kaskaskia and leading the team with six aces against Miles.
Elena Gregotti contributed offensively throughout the weekend, including 10 kills against Miles and eight kills against Kaskaskia. The Golden Eagles also received strong production from their setters, with Sofia Medina recording 17 assists against Kaskaskia and Mia Stubbs adding 15 assists in the same match.

Rock Valley's strong start reflected the team's balance throughout the lineup, from its attacking and blocking at the net to its defensive play and serving pressure. The 5-1 tournament record gives the Golden Eagles early momentum as they continue to develop and work toward their goals during the 2026 season.
