Rockford, IL: The Golden Eagles women's basketball teams won their opening round game of the Region 4 tournament. The women defeated Elgin Community College 77-48. The Golden Eagles saw everyone make the box score in the scoring column. RVC were led by three players reaching double figures.
Mya VanEtten had a team high 17 points on the night. Also making double figures were
Jazelle Young with 12 points 5 rebounds and Shalia Poole with 10 points 8 rebounds, 3 blocks. The Golden Eagles were great on the defensive end of the floor holding the Spartans to 23% from the field and out rebounding Elgin 61-39
Rock Valley College is hosting the women's Super Region 4 Semi-Finals this weekend. The women will play on Saturday, with the Golden Eagles playing in the last game of the day at 6pm against the #11 seed Black Hawk College. The other games of the day will be at 12pm, 2pm, and 4pm.
