Golden Eagles Suffer First Loss of Season, Fall to Black Hawk
The Rock Valley College women's soccer team dropped its first match of the 2025 season on Saturday, falling 1–0 to Black Hawk College on Saturday. The setback moves the Golden Eagles to 10–1 overall and ends an impressive 38-game unbeaten streak in Region 4 competition.
Despite dominating possession for stretches of the contest, Rock Valley was unable to find the back of the net for the first time this season. The Golden Eagles also conceded their first goal in six Region 4 matches.
Following the loss, RVC slipped to No. 13 in the latest NJCAA National Rankings, while Black Hawk reentered the poll at No. 20.
Rock Valley will look to rebound quickly as the Golden Eagles return home on Wednesday, October 1, to face Triton College. The women's match is scheduled to kick off at 2:00 p.m., followed by the men's contest at 4:00 p.m. The games will also serve as part of Rock Valley's Homecoming festivities.
