Golden Eagles Improve to 4-0 with Another Successful Weekend
Rockford, IL August 31, 2025:

Rock Valley College Women's Soccer continued their unbeaten start to the 2025 season, securing a pair of wins this past weekend. The Golden Eagles earned their first Region 4 victory with a 4-0 road result over Waubonsee on Saturday, then followed up with a dominant 5-2 home win against St. Clair Community College (Region 12) on Sunday. The two victories move RVC to 4-0 on the year.

Freshman Kassandra Jimenez and sophomore All-Region standout Isabelle Rivera each recorded braces in the Waubonsee match. Jimenez opened the scoring after combining on the edge of the box before finishing a clever slip pass from Joscelyn Pasada. She doubled her tally in the second half by redirecting a chipped ball from Keyla Suarez with the outside of her foot. Rivera then took over, scoring once from open play after a sharp passing sequence involving Sam Wendt and Hailey Westphal, and later converting a penalty earned by Westphal to seal the 4-0 win.

The Golden Eagles carried that momentum into their home opener against St. Clair. In just the second minute, Emilia Arias drove past defenders and delivered a back-post cross for Rivera, who bundled it over the line. St. Clair capitalized on limited chances to score twice in the first half, but RVC stormed back after the break. Freshman Johanna Hawley pressed high, won the ball, and calmly slotted home for her first collegiate goal. Minutes later, Arias struck again—her third of the season—chipping the keeper from 25 yards after a quick setup from Araceli Mendez.

The Golden Eagles' attack didn't slow down. Westphal blazed down the wing to set up Jimenez, who switched play to Hawley for a bending finish into the far post—her second of the day. The scoring was capped when Pasada sliced a pass through the defense to spring Arias, who rounded the keeper and tapped into an empty net for her second goal of the game.

With the two wins, Rock Valley continues its perfect start and looks ahead to building on early-season momentum. Next Home game on September 3rd vs Illinois Valley at 2pm.
