Head Baseball coach Chad Herren has released the 2025 Golden Eagle Baseball Schedule. Coach Herren will be entering his 9th season as the skipper at Rock Valley College. The Golden Eagles will look to build off last year's historic season posting a record of 42-15.  This monumental season saw multiple records broken during the 2024 season.

In 2024 the Golden Eagles had two All-Americans in Jackson Lindquist and Griffin Smith.  Offensively the men destroyed the Home Run record for the second year in a row with 65 lead by hitting coach Jack Howard. While Griffin Smith will go down as one of the best pitchers to ever put on a jersey for the Golden Eagles. Smith would set the record for career strikeouts (202), career innings pitched (141), career wins (17), season strikeouts (113), season wins (11), and season innings pitched (77). 

"Our program is coming off a solid year, and the question is now can we continue to build off of it. Every year is completely different and each team has different make-up." Stated Coach Chad Herren. This sophomore class currently had 10 players committed to 4-year institutions already!  

The Golden Eagles head into the 2025 campaign Receiving Votes in the NJCAA National Pre-Season Rankings!  Also coming in at #22 in the NJCAA Div. 2 Pre-Season presented by The JBB rankings. Rock Valley will kick off their season with a trip to Poplar Bluff, Missouri February 21st and 22nd where they will face Three Rivers College in two 7 inning games each day. The Golden Eagles will then head to Fairfield, IL for four games against Frontier Community College. 

The Golden Eagles will start their spring break trip by traveling to Union, Mo to compete against East Central College for a three game series.  The Golden Eagles return several solid impact players.  Grant Marshall (St. Cloud University commit) LHP is coming back off a 1.83 ERA.  He will look to dominate again on the mound.  Mason Lei (Stony Brook University commit) will return as a top starter.  Max Strash (Washburn University commit) is coming back to bolster down the staff as well.  Ethan Storm returns to the mound to be a force this spring.  "I believe we have several solid pieces to make for a strong staff returning along with impact freshman that will need to eat up several quality innings on the mound" Coach Herren states.  Offensively the team is led by Konner Giddley (University of Arkansas Pine-Bluff commit) will look to continue his stay up the middle at short stop.  Nick Mardis will be a big key for the offense riding into the spring.  River Lindsey (Wagner College commit) will man an OF spot utilizing his speed.  Chase Wiese returns to bolster the middle infield as well.  "Offensively we have much talent with great depth, we can use many guys to keep the players fresh moving along throughout the season." Ethan Storm comes in at 327th and Gavin Obremski 380th nationally ranked Perfect Game Juco Prospects!  Two young men to watch this spring as well!

RVC will then head further south down to Tennessee to do battle with Southwest Tennessee Community College on March 11th in a double header and then over to West Memphis, AR to battle Arkansas State Mid-South to conclude their spring break trip. 

Once returning from their spring break trip, Rock Valley will look to host their home opener against Western Technical College on March 14th followed up with a quick trip to Milwaukee to take on Milwaukee Area Technical College in their first Region 4 showdown of the year.  

"I believe this team has a chance to be legit! Just like any team we need all 3 facets to fire. Pitching will be good and deep using several pieces!" Coach Herren mentions. One of those pieces will be returning redshirt sophomore Ethan Storm. Storm returns to the mound from his 2023 campaign where he had a break out year landing him 4th all time in the single season strikeouts with 71.
