Softball: Golden Eagles Season Ends to Defending National Champions

Spartanburg, SC - The Golden Eagles finished their season at the NJCAA DII Softball World Series with a 34-15 record.

The Golden Eagles would fall in the elimination game to the defending National Champions Copiah-Lincoln Community College on Thursday 2-10. The Wolves jumped out to an early lead in the game 2-0 in the first inning behind a home run from Efferson. Effereson would follow up in the 4th inning with another 2 run shot which would give Co-Lin all the momentum they would need to never look back. Copiah Lincoln would hit 3 homeruns on the day. Rock Valley would get on the board from a Molly Kable score in the 4th and then from a Sam Tourtillott monster home run in the top of the 5th before eventually being run ruled in the bottom of the 5th.

Individual leaders for the season would be Molly Kable with (61) hits, (22) doubles, (4) triples, and (65) RBI's Sam Tourtillott would lead the Golden Eagles with (13) homeruns second all-time for the program, Chole Wamboldt with (34) stolen bases second all-time. Natalie Lower would record 16 wins on the year throwing 136 innings, while Alison Hassett would record 120 strikeouts on the year.

Alison Hassett, Emma Krueger, Sam Tourtillott, Faith McClain, Molly Kable, were all named 1st Team All-Region 4, while Diamond Blomlie was named 3rd Team All-Region 4.
