The Golden Eagles pick up their first win at the NJCAA DII National Tournament against the #20 seed Lake Michigan College in the national tournament first round. The Golden Eagles would defeat the Red Hawks 2-1 with help from a walk off single from Diamond Blomlie in the bottom of the 7th inning. Natalie Lower would get the win in the circle after facing 25 batters and throwing 63 strikes with 4 strike outs only allowing one run in the game. Alison Hassett would step in to close the game facing two batters in the top of the 7th with one strikeout. RVC's offense was led by Sam Vetter with a double in the game and Faith McClain and Diamond Blomlie with RBI's.
RVC moves on to second round play tomorrow against the #4 seed and returning National Runner-Up Jones. This will be the first game for Jones as they received a first round bye today.
