The Golden Eagles who are currently the 17^th ranked team in the country at the NJCAA DII level. RVC went 5-1 over the weekend against solid teams in the NJCAA Opening Weekend Tournament. The Golden Eagles faced off against NJCAA D1 Kaskaskia College, NJCAA D2 Southeastern Iowa Community College, NJCAA D2 Southwestern Michigan College, NJCAA D2 St. Louis Community College, and NJCAA DIII #2 Owens Community. The Golden Eagles won their opening match over Kaskaskia 3-2 before dropping the next match against Southeastern Iowa 0-3 sets.
Saturday would see Rock Valley bounce back by picking up two quality wins over Kalamazoo Valley 3-0, and Southwestern Michigan College 3-1.

The Golden Eagles would finish the weekend on Sunday winning both games against St. Louis Community College 3-0 and #2 NJCAA DIII Owens Community College 3-0. "This weekend we matched up against some solid competition. We are a young group with one lone sophomore on our roster so it was good to get out to a good start on the young season Head Coach Kristy Pierce stated. We were challenged and I am excited to see how this teams grows throughout the season."

The Golden Eagles hit the road on Saturday August 26^th for the Back to School Tourney in Champaign, IL where they will face off against Hawkeye Community College NJCAA DII, Muskegon Community College NJCAA DII, Carl Sandburg College NJCAA DII and Lake Michigan College NJCAA DII.
