Rockford, IL – Rock Valley Softball Co-Head Coach Vivi Marquez has accepted another position at Rock Valley College and will be the new Career and Technical Education Advisor.
"To be a part of such a special program the last 5 seasons have been nothing short of memorable. As an alumni to be able to come back home and coach alongside of someone that impacted my life once as a player was an honor. I have been surrounded by such an amazing culture and family that is it hard to see my life without this program and department. I am so grateful to have had the opportunity to lead young women and through a sport that I have so much passion for. I hope I have left my mark at RVC and continue to lead outside the field at Rock Valley College. I want to express my most sincere gratitude to all the amazing staff in the athletic department. I am grateful for each and every one of the athletes that I got to influence, teach and learn from. I couldn't be more proud of the staff that I was surrounded with especially this last season. I know this season was a step in the right direction, as I know this family will continue to compete with heart every year and the best is still yet to come. I want to say thank you to everyone at Rock Valley College for your constant support and for everyone who has been with me since I was a student-athlete for this amazing program back in 2012. I am grateful to Coach Darin Monroe for recruiting me to come to this indescribable place. It was once in a life-time experience to compete for National Championships every single season. Thank you for being a role model and taking me under your wing. It has been such an incredible journey to be under your leadership and to witness your passion for RVC Softball and athletics. I am forever grateful that you shared such an amazing program with me. I know that RVC Softball will continue to rise to the top under your leadership. I am excited to continue to learn and grow from others at Rock Valley College. The best is still yet to come for us all." Stated Vivi Marquez
