Golden Eagles Season Ends At DII Softball World Series

Spartanburg, SC - The Golden Eagles finished their season at the NJCAA DII Softball World Series with a 44-12 record. This is the ninth consecutive season that the program has reached the 40 win mark on the season.

The Golden Eagles would fall in the elimination game to Region IV opponent South Suburban College on Wednesday 3-7. The Bulldogs jumped out to an early lead in the game 3-0 in the first inning and never looked back. Rock Valley would battle in the 4th inning scoring 3 runs of their own cutting the South Suburban lead to 2 runs before the Bulldogs would go on to score the final two runs of the game in the top of the 6th inning.

RVC finished the year as one of the top ranked offensive programs in the nation with 463 runs (10), 565 hits (11), 123 doubles (8), 23 triples (8), and 419 RBIs (10). There were also several Golden Eagles broke RVC record books. Jenna Turner would record 10 triples on the year moving her to 2nd in the RVC record book. Katie Hayes recorded 80 RBIs which has her siting at 4th, Jenna Turner again makes the list with 29 stolen bases which lands her 4th on the list and Madison Carlson records 25 wins on the season which ties for 2nd.

Madison Carlson, Jenna Turner, Katie Hayes, and Bella Crimaldi were named All Region performers. Carlson, Turner, and Hayes was named All Region 1st Team and Crimaldi was named to the 2nd team list.
