The Golden Eagles are recently received the #7 overall seed for the tournament and will face off against the #10 seed Des Moines Area Community College who finished the season with a 49-10 record winning the North Plains District B Championship. The Bears enter the tournament winning 16 of their last 17 outings.
The Golden Eagles faced off against the Bears in the fall of 2022 in a scrimmage where the Golden Eagles defeated DMACC 5-3. Coach Monroe was asked what would be the keys for the Golden Eagles success at the national tournament. "We need to continue to do the little things like we have all year long, that are getting the job done."Â
There also seems to be really no added pressure this year for the Golden Eagles as they enter their first year as a DII program looking for their 9
th straight National Championship, and first in program history at this level. "There is pressure every year when you get to the National Tournament. There are 15 other quality teams competing for the same goal." Stated Monroe
