Golden Eagles Finish the Regular Season on 8 Game Win Streak

Rockford, IL: The 12th ranked Golden Eagles would close out the regular season with a pair of wins this week against Madison College 107-73 and Wilbur Wright College 128-47. With those two victories Rock Valley would finish the regular season with a 23-6 record overall. "It was a solid finish to the regular season, I feel like we are starting to play some of our best basketball again ahead of the Region IV tournament." Stated Coach Darryl Watkins

On Tuesday the Golden Eagles would defeat Madison College 107-73 giving RVC a 14-3 record against the Wolfpack in their last 17 games. Leaders from the game were. Karley Colson with 18 points, Nevaeh Hughes with 16 points, 4 rebounds, 4 assist, Tatym Coe with 14 points, Emily Rich with 12 points, Camron Blank with 11 points, 8 rebounds, 5 assist and 0 turnovers and McKenna Williams with 10 points, 7 rebounds.

Thursday Rock Valley would defeat Wilbur Wright 128-47. This win would keep the Golden Eagles perfect against the Rams in their matchup history with a recent 11 game win streak against Wright. Leaders from the game were, Emily Rich with 24 points, McKenna Williams with 18 points and 16 rebounds, Maya Mitchell with 18 points, 9 rebounds, and 4 steals, Karley Colson with 16 points, Tatym Coe with 11 points. Other notable stats from the night were Carly LaMay with 7 assist and 0 turnovers and Sam Tourtillott with 8 assist and 11 rebounds.

UP NEXT
RVC will host the NJCAA Region IV DII women's basketball tournament over the next two weeks. Quarterfinals will be played Wednesday March 1st at the highest seed, followed up with the Semi-Finals on March 4th at Rock Valley College and the Finals on March 11th at Rock Valley College.
