Women's Basketball: Golden Eagles Ride 9 Game Win Streak

Moberly, MO: The Golden Eagles continue their win streak pushing their record to a 9-0 start, with wins coming this past week to DI Sauk Valley, DII Spoon River and DII Danville. This strong start continues to show the Golden Eagles are one of the best teams in the nation moving up to the #6 spot in this weeks national poll.

On Tuesday RVC would travel to DI Sauk Valley to play against the Skyhawks. Rock Valley would win the contest 72-44. The Golden Eagles would jump out early with a commanding lead and never look back. The Golden Eagles were led by McKenna Williams wit 16 points and 11 rebounds. Also reaching double figures were Mia Moore with 14 points, 5 assist, 6 steals, Elli Teubert with 12 points and Karley Colson with 10 points 4 rebounds.
Rock Valley would travel to Moberly, MO to take on DII Region 24 Spoon River in which the Golden Eagles defeated the Snappers 87-57. Rock Valley was led by Karley Colson's 25 points, Mia Moore 22 points 6 rebounds, McKenna Williams 14 points, 14 rebounds, and Maya Mitchells 10 points 4 rebounds.

Day two would see RVC face off against DII Region 24. The Golden Eagles would jump out to an early lead against the Jaguars 21-11 in the first quarter before battling back and forth the remaining 3 quarters before winning the game 75-69. "This is a special group of who are getting things done on both ends of the court. It is still early in the season and we are no where near where we want to be but it is still enjoyable to watch as the pieces to the puzzle start to form." Stated Head Coach Darryl Watkins
Leaders from the game were sophomore McKenna Williams 17 points, 15 rebounds, Maya Mitchell with 10 points and 6 rebounds, freshman Mia Moore with 10 points and 6 rebounds, and sophomore Alicia Bates with 14 points and 3 rebounds.

UP NEXT
RVC will be back in THE NEST taking on Region 4 DII opponent Prairie State on Tuesday. Tip off is set for 5pm.
