(October 11th, 2023) Rockford IL - Rock Valley College Women's Soccer has extended their unbeaten run to 14 games with a 3-1 win Wednesday night over College of Dupage. The Golden Eagles move to 12-2-3 on the season and 11-0-2 in Region IV play with the win. RVC went down by a goal early in the game against the run of play. They were able to fight back and after missing from close range, hitting the post, and had serveral efforts saved by the Dupage goalkeeper
Anika Elgin recorded a brace on the evening taking her to 33 Goals on the season. Assists coming from
Makenna Brown who played a perfectly weighted ball behind the back line before it was fired into the top corner to tie the game up. The go ahead goal saw
Isabella Garrelts beating a couple players out wide before firing in a cross that was met first time by Elgin for the game winner. The second half saw the Golden Eagles dominate possession continued their attacking threat finishing the night with 34 shots. The third goal coming from good work by
Jocelyn Harms on the wing beating her defender and putting a dangerous ball in the box for a slashing Elgin run. The Chapparel defender did a good job of staying close but the cross ended up going off her into the back of the net. RVC came cross several other times hitting the crossbar, post, and creating 18 corner kicks on the evening. The Dupage defense did well staying organized and the goalkeeper Caitlin Yurkovich made 13 saves keeping the scoreline close. Goalkeeper
