Women's Basketball: Golden Eagles Unplug the Chargers

Box Score Galesburg, IL: The Golden Eagles would pick up yet another win over Carl Sandburg College 95-51. Rock Valley improves to 18-6 on the season and is currently ranked 15th in the latest NJCAA women's basketball DII poll.

The Chargers would give the Golden Eagles a good fight in the first quarter trailing only 10 points heading into the 2nd quarter. "Credit to Coach Fernetti's group of young ladies.They came out and played hard. The energy that they gave never was a reflection of how hard they played. "Stated Head Coach Darryl Watkins

The Golden Eagles depth and pace would again prove to be too much for their opponent. Winning every quarter due to big runs with in each of them. "You don't always see teams at this level that are comfortable with going as deep as we do into our bench, it's a credit to the student athletes that we have recruited not only with their talent level but their unselfish play that everyone contributes to our success." Stated Watkins

Nevaeh Hughes would lead the Golden Eagles with 20 points and 9 rebounds. Also hitting double figures against the Chargers would be 3 other Golden Eagles Emily Rich with 16 points, McKenna Williams with 13 points 6 rebounds, Camron Blank with 12 points, 6 rebounds, 5 assist, and 5 steals. Missing double figures nearly for RVC would be Elli Teubert with 9 points and Bre'Najah Davis with 9 points 6 rebounds.

RVC will be off this entire week picking back up in the month of February on the 7th at Kankakee Community College.
