The Golden Eagles will square off against a familiar foe on Wednesday afternoon. Illinois Valley and Rock Valley met three times in the 2021 season. Rock Valley took both regular season matches, 3-1 in LaSalle, then 4-3 in Rockford after trailing 2-0 in the first 13 minutes. Illinois Valley had the final word, however, beating the Golden Eagles 3-2 in the region's semifinal.
 
After a slow start, the Eagles have rattled of five straight wins, including back-to-back District B matches versus Carl Sandburg (3-2, OT) and Bryant & Stratton (3-0). The Golden Eagles have won three consecutive, including two wins last week at Black Hawk (4-1) and versus Lake County (3-0).
 
Looking to stretch it to four straight, the Golden Eagles will need to rely on their stingy defense. Illinois Valley is currently averaging 3.00 goals-per-game and features the best attack Rock Valley has seen to date, and against a side that plays extremely confidently at home.

UP NEXT
The Golden Eagles will return home Saturday to play Elgin Community College as Rock Valley returns to Region IV action. Kickoff is scheduled for 12:00 pm.
 
MILESTONE WATCH
In their match against Lake County, the men reached 300 goals in program history, scoring 299, 300 and 301 versus the Lancers. Roberto Davila scored in the 3-0 win Saturday afternoon, and is now one goal behind sixth All-Time in goals and one point behind ninth all-time in the program's history. Goalkeeper Alyas Fritz record the shutout on Saturday afternoon and is now tied for fourth best in a single season.
