The Golden Eagles who are currently receiving votes in their first season at NJCAA DII went 3-3 over the weekend against a tough crop of talent in NJCAA Opening Weekend Tournament. The Golden Eagles faced off against NJCAA D1 Lincoln Trail College, NJCAA D2 #10 McHenry County College, NJCAA D2 #4 Iowa Central Community College, NJCAA D2 #RV Mott Community College, NJCAA DII Spoon River College and NJCAA DII #6 Terra State. The Golden Eagles won their opening match over Lincoln Trail 3-0 before dropping its next 3 matches of the weekend, McHenry 0-3, Iowa Central 0-3, and Mott 1-3.

The Golden Eagles would finish the weekend on Sunday winning both games against Spoon River 3-1 and #6 Terra State 3-0. "This weekend we matched up against the best teams in the country Head Coach Kristy Pierce stated. We were challenged. We gained momentum throughout the entire tournament and grew as a unit. I am excited to see how this teams grows throughout the season."

The Golden Eagles hit the road on Wednesday August 24^th to play Highland Community College for a 6 PM game and they turn right around for the Back to School Tourney in Champaign, IL where they will face off against Morton College NJCAA DII, Kalamazoo Valley Community College NJCAA DII, NJCAA DII #1 Parkland College and Hawkeye Community College NJCAA DII.
