The Golden Eagles won their third game of the 2022 NJCAA DIII Softball National Tournament. The national semi-final game saw RVC face off against the #2 seed Corning Community College.
The Golden Eagles would defeat the Red Barron's 3-2.  Hannah Hockerman would get the win in the circle while throwing ten strikeouts. RVC was lead on the offensive side of the game by Jenna Turner,  Kelli Riordan,, and Kayla Freiberg with 1 RBI a piece.

When asked what has the team done to get back to this point in the National Tournament Monroe was very firm on what's getting the job done. "Our success so far in the tournament has been pitching and defense.  We have gotten three solid pitching performances from Hannah Hockerman and Madison Carlson and that has set the tone for the tournament for us.  Our defense hasn't been flawless but we have found ways to make big plays in big moments.  Our offense has continued to improve each game and we hope our best offensive performance is still to come."

Coach Monroe also spoke on how it feels to be back in tomorrow's National Championship game?  "Having an opportunity to play in our 8th consecutive National Championship game is an unbelievable moment.  It is something we set out to do as a group in August and I cant wait to watch our players on the big stage."

RVC will move on to play in tomorrows National Championship game at 12pm EST.  "The NJCAA made a change to the format and this is the first year of that change to allow the off-day for the only undefeated team remaining. We will use today as a recovery and allow our kids to get a mental escape from softball to be well rested and refreshed going into the biggest game of our season." Stated Monroe
