For the ninth time in ten seasons, the Rock Valley College Women's Basketball has captured the NJCAA DIII Region IV Championship. The Golden Eagles, the #7 ranked team in NJCAA DIII Women's Basketball, were in a back and forth battle with the #2 seed Joliet Junior College for the entire game.

The Golden Eagles would jump out to an early 14-4 lead over the Wolves, before Joliet would go on a 6-4 run to end the quarter. The second quarter would be Joliet making a run of their own. The wolves would go on a 6-0 during the second to cut the lead to two points heading into halftime.

"We knew we were going to be in for a dog fight," stated Head Women's Basketball Coach Darryl Watkins. "We beat them at our place pretty good and they pulled off a gritty win at their place."

In the second half the story of the game would be no different with the back and forth battle between the two teams. In the 4th quarter Joliet would take their first and only lead of the game after a 7-0 run to go up 44-40.
"Our kids kept their composure. They didn't let the run rattle them or through them off of their game. They weathered the storm and we made a run of our own to finish out the game." Stated Watkins

The Golden Eagles made a 14-4 run to close out the final 3 minutes of the game. RVC was led by Camron Blank with 21 points and 20 rebounds. Rachel Rittmeyer and Breeyona Burrell both missed double figures with 9 points apiece.
