The Golden Eagles pick up back to back N4C conference wins on the road. RVC now has won 5 of their last 6 games with the latest being against Madison College. This is the Golden Eagles 9
th win in the last ten match-ups with the Wolfpack.
Rock Valley would fall behind early after Madison took an early 2-0 lead but would quickly regain the lead on an Albert 3pt shot and never lose the lead for the rest of the game. "A lot of credit to Madison last night they came out and played us extremely hard in the first quarter. Every time we tried to pull away they would answer with a basket." Stated Head CoachÂ
Darryl Watkins
But that wouldn't last long for the wolfpack as RVC would on a 10-0 run to end the first half completing a 31 point quarter. "It all started on the defensive end of the court for us. Before the game we spoke about we wanted put together at least 8 kills. We classify a kill as three stops in a row." Stated Watkins
The second half of the game Madison would continue to battle with the Golden Eagles but the lead in which RVC built early was far too much. "We shot the ball extremely well. We were 41% from the 3pt line and 43% from the field. When you are shooting the ball that well taking care of the ball not turning it over and defending at a high level you are going to come out on the positive end of games more than often." Stated Watkins.
The Golden Eagles were led by freshmanÂ
Camron Blank who recorded another double-double scoring a game high 28 points, 15 rebounds and 5 steals. Freshman'sÂ
Ashanti Brown 18 points, 14 rebounds, 7 assist and 0 turnovers,
Breeyona Burrell 14 points and sophomoreÂ
Kaycia Zimmerman 16 points, 10 rebounds rounded out the double digit scoring for RVC.
