Rockford, IL – It was 2018 since the last time that the Golden Eagles men's soccer program defeated the Harper College Hawks. On Saturday the Golden Eagles defeated the Hawks 2-1 in OT. The Hawks entered the game receiving votes in the national poll and the Golden Eagles came in at #4. It was a battle between two top 15 programs.
The Golden Eagles saw themselves fall behind in the game 0-1 but battled back with a goal in the second half at the 75
th minute.
Roberto Davila found Bernardo Dominguez for the goal. That goal gave Dominguez 4 goals on the season and Davila tallying his first assist of the season.
All square at 1-1 after horn the two teams took to overtime. Overtime rules stated a golden goal would determine a winner. In the 97

Tim Romanello had this to say after the match "It was great to bounce back from a mid-week loss like we did. Wins and losses do not define but I was proud of how we battled. We will keep moving forward and work to be better each day."
The men are back at home on Wednesday, September 22
nd at 4pm. They will host the Wolves of Joliet Junior College. The #8 Golden Eagles are 4-1 (2-1, N4C) entering the match and the Wolves are 2-6 (1-3, N4C) coming into the match.
