The Golden Eagles opened up the season with an 85-66 victory over Waubonsee CC. The Golden Eagles controlled most of the game, they went into the break with a 42-28 lead. The Chiefs would cut the lead down to 8 points in the first 4 minutes of the second half but the Golden Eagles quickly got that back to double digits. For the final 10 minutes of the game the Golden Eagles would control the game and keep the Chiefs at bay.

RVC had a number of players score in double digits. Malik Marshall lead the team in scoring with 18pts on 7 of 15 shooting. Nick Pierson added 16pts and 9 rebounds for the Golden Eagles. New comer Chris Burnell started off his Golden Eagle debut by scoring 11pts, adding 6 rebounds and a game high 5 assists. Freshman Jackson Copley scored 13pts, connecting on 3 three pointers in the contest. RVC had plenty of help off the bench as George Williams scored 14pts and had 3 assists.

The men's team is back in action on Tuesday night at 9pm against NJCAA D2 #17 Bryant & Stratton
