Volleyball Falls Short in National Championship Game

Rochester, MN: In Kristy Pierce's third year at Rock Valley College, she has led her team to the National Championship game for the first time since 2012. When RVC Volleyball rwon the title.

The Golden Eagles would face a familiar face in Owens Community College in the DIII National Championship match. RVC would win sets 1 and 3 of the match while dropping sets 2 and 4 before heading into the final 5th set. This is where it was a back and forth scoring match until Owen's ultimately took the lead to capture the crown.

"It was a phenomenal opportunity for our team. We played hard throughout the match We just fell short of our ultimate goal but that doesn't take away from what these young ladies have accomplished on the journey to this point. I am very proud of this group," said coach Pierce.  

"Coach Pierce and RVC Volleyball took us all on a wild ride this past week. They came up short but I can't be more proud of how they represented our department and institution. Coach Pierce has a championship culture built and the best is still yet to come" Stated Athletic Director Darin Monroe.
