ROCKFORD, IL – The Golden Eagles finished their regular season with a 3-1 victory over Joliet JC. This win gives the men's soccer program their first ever 10 win season in program history. The Golden Eagles finish the regular season with a 10-3 overall record. Finishing 2
nd in region play and 3
rd in conference play.
On Saturday, the Golden Eagles jumped on top of the Wolves with an early goal by Bernardo Dominguez in the 4
th minute.
Poe Reh and Omar Munoz assisted on the goal. Back and forth for the next 41 minutes the score was 1-0 headed into the break. Joliet got on the board in the 51
st minute with a goal on a penalty. In the 53
rd minute
Poe Reh found the back of the net on an unassisted goal. That goal gives Reh a team high 9 goals on the season. In the 85
th minute, Axel Alamo found
Isaias Nieto for a goal to put the game away for Rock Valley, 3-1.
The men's soccer team will be the 2
nd seed in the region tournament. They will host #3 Illinois Valley on Tuesday at 3pm in the regional semi-final. If the Golden Eagles win on Tuesday they would play Saturday for the region championship, time and location TBD.
