ROCKFORD, IL - A fury of late game attacks by the Golden Eagles were unsuccessful as the men's soccer team was unable to mount the comeback on Tuesday afternoon. Illinois Valley defeated Rock Valley 3-2 in the regional semi-final. This lose ended the season for the Golden Eagles who finished the season with a 10-4 record, the 10 wins posted was a program record best.
IVCC jumped out to an early 0-1 lead on a goal in the 10th minute but that lead was short lived as the Golden Eagles would answer in the 20th minute. In the 20th minute

Isaias Nieto streaking across the middle and burried it in the back of the net. However in the 38th minute the Eagles scored on a corner kick with a favorable bounce off the back of one of their players. Headed into the break the Eagles lead the Golden Eagles 2-1. Things got tougher for the Golden Eagles to start the second half. Eight minutes into the second half IVCC found the back of the net again to give the Eagles a 3-1 lead. Bernie Dominguez bringing RVC within one goal. Over the next twenty-seven minutes the Golden Eagles were on the offensive, controlling the ball and aggressively attacking the goal. RVC had numerous attempts to tie the game in the final minutes but were unsuccessful in converting.Â
