For the seventh time in nine years, the Rock Valley College Women's Basketball program is headed to the national tournament. The Golden Eagles, the #3 ranked team in NJCAA DIII Women's Basketball, controlled the entire game against Columbus State Community College (OH) 86-70. RVC will take a 27-6 record and a 17-game winning streak to the national tournament hosted by Rock Valley College on March 12-14.Â
"We wanted to control the tempo of the game, making Columbus State," stated Head Women's Basketball Coach
Darryl Watkins. "Credit to our ladies defense they bought into our game plan and forced Columbus State to play our brand of basketball. We won the rebounding battle, had 23 assist on 33 field goal makes, forced 20 turnovers and took 5 or more charges on the day."
