Game Notes
Rock Valley is an NJCAA Division III member of the North Central Community College Conference (N4C)… RVC Women's Basketball remains at the #4 in this weeks NJCAA DIII Poll of the season. The last game out saw the Golden Eagles defeat Moraine Valley Community College 76-61.
The Golden Eagles come into this game looking to finish the 2019 calendar year and non-conference season on a high note. The Bulldogs own a 1-3 series lead over the Golden Eagles with Rock Valleys lone win coming in 2017 in route to the programs last National Championship.

South Suburban College Notes
Coach Scott is entering his 27th year of coaching women's basketball at SSC. This is his first and only head coaching tenure in the women's ranks. He has a record of 526-400 and compiled a 57% winning percentage. His teams have been recognized for their competitiveness, toughness, and defensive intensity. He has been lauded for building strong playoff teams and stalking the sidelines with fiery passion for his student-athletes. Coach Scott has led his team to three appearances at the NJCAA National Tournament (1999, 2000, and 2005). In February of 2016, Coach Scott was selected to be inducted into NJCAA Region IV Hall of Fame.
The 2005 team finished 8th at the NJCAA National Tournament. He has coached seven JUCO All-Americans. Darrell had the luxury of finishing the 2006 season as the head coach for both the men's and women's basketball teams. Both teams finished as the Region 4 runners-up.
Coach Scott is a 1987 graduate of Grinnell College where he excelled in both basketball and track and field. He was a 3-year starter and was named All-Midwest Conference. Prior to coaching the women at SSC, Coach Scott served three years as the men's assistant coach at SSC.

 

Darryl Watkins is entering his 1st year at the helm for the Golden Eagles. Watkins spent five years as an Assistant Women's Basketball Coach for the Golden Eagles under legendary Coach Misty Opat. In five years, he was an integral part of the 2013, 2015 and 2017 National Championship teams and the 2014 National Runner-Up.  He was heavily involved in the program's recruiting, player development, strength and conditioning, and game preparation. RVC was an impressive 138-24 over those five seasons. A Rockford native, Watkins graduated from hometown Auburn High School in 2007, and from Rock Valley College with his AA in 2009. He has also received his bachelor's from Rockford University in Physical Education in 2012, as well as his master's in Sports Administration from Chadron State College (NE) in 2016.
