In a battle between two nationally ranked teams, Rock Valley, who is receiving votes in the latest NJCAA national poll, defeated #7 NJCAA DIII Joliet Junior College 1-0. The Golden Eagles are now 5-2-1 overall.

The match's lone goal was scored by 2016 NJCAA DIII First Team All-American Kenzie Theien in the 19th minute. That proved to be enough for RVC to hold on for the win. Goalkeeper Shannel Boettcher recorded 21 saved to hold the Wolves scoreless.

"The whole team showed up today," said Boettcher. "We all worked as a cohesive unit and the defense and midfielders were almost impenetrable. The offensive attack did their part by putting in a goal and pressuring on top. It was a great team win."
