Volleyball: Golden Eagles Pick Up 3 Wins at the Battle in The Dells Showcase
RVC Volleyball earned three wins this weekend at the prestigious Battle in The Dells Showcase. The Golden Eagles move to 3-3 despite playing a brutal early season schedule.
"Progress was made," stated Head Coach
Alyssa King. "We were able to see many stretches of really good volleyball. There were a lot of positives in our match that we lost. When we figure out how to consistently limit our unforced errors, we will see more success in the outcomes of our matches."
BY THE NUMBERS
Match #1 vs. St. Clair County Community College (MI)
RVC won in 5 sets - 25-23, 25-23, 20-25, 22-25, and 12-15.
Alondra Rodriguez and
Morgan Raley contributed 12 kills each, while
Danielle Pendzinski added 10.
Kaitlin Sadkowski had 27 digs in the winning effort.
Match #2 vs. #19 NJCAA DII Muskegon Community College (MI)
The Golden Eagles fell in 5 sets to the nationally ranked Jayhawks. Despite being up 2-1 after 3 sets, Muskegon turned up the pressure to come away with a 3-2 win. Raley led RVC in kills (12), while Sadkowski contributed 17 digs.
Match #3 vs. Iowa Lakes Community College
RVC had little issue with Iowa Lakes, defeating them in 3 sets - 25-18, 25-21, and 25-20. Pendinski and freshman
Mallory Hecox both contributed 8 kills in the win.
Match #4 vs. Henry Ford Community College (MI)
The Golden Eagles were victorious in 3 sets - 25-22, 25-9, and 25-20. Raley and Hecox led the way with 10 and 9 kills, respectively.
Salina Oudomsouk dished out 22 assists, while Sadkowski added 15 digs for the Rock Valley defense.
UP NEXT
The Golden Eagles (3-3) opens up N4C play at home on Thursday, August 31st against Joliet Junior College. Match time is set for 6 PM.
