M-Soccer: RVC Beats Elgin 4-0 in Season Opener
The Golden Eagles wasted little time getting after the visiting Elgin Community College Spartans.
Jonathan Flores found the back of the net at the 5 minute mark to give Rock Valley College an early advantage. The Golden Eagles scored 4 first half goals, which proved to be plenty in their 4-0 shutout on opening night.
"We put a lot of pressure on Elgin early," said Head Men's Soccer Coach
Frank Horvat. "I would have liked to find the back of the net in the second half, but sometimes that is just the way it goes. My guys did a nice job on the defensive side of the ball all evening long. Anytime you can finish the game with a shutout, you did something right."
